Thing 8

wow mashup is a great tool. I have never heard of this before, but I found it interesting that there is a tool that can combine several data sources.

I found the housing maps interesting. If your in the market for a new home it opens up craigslist and combines it with google map thus making location a breeze.

And then the spell wiht flickr-this would be a great asset to our ESL learners who need a picture to connect "new words".

thing 7

http://www.flickr.com/photos/michaeljlynch/3064515149/

Flickr has an awesome collection of photos! This is a great picture of a beautiful sunset.
Pictures like this would be great to discuss moon phases, times of day, seasons, all included with our 3rd grade solar system unit.
Flickr is a great addition to a changing world, and our changing students. Flickr would also greatly assist our ESL students who so often ask whats this?

Thing 6

Thing six would be a great way to communicate with grade level teachers across the district, as well as around the world. I think it would be great to share ideas (maybe even videos) of students around the world. That would be amazing for my 3rd grade students to see what students in California or even Japan are doing on a daily bases.

Thing 5

Google Reader would be a great tool to share a specific website or tool with your co teachers. This could help connect a friend or co teacher with a specific website that they might need or benefit from (this could include articles or pictures). This has been the case in the past when a specific grade level district wide needed access to specific info. This could also a great tool for a high school class to follow each other and post daily or weekly and not have to search for a specific person.
